It was a chilly and rainy day all of the way to Salem. Caleb loved researching the Salem witch trials and wanted to go to Salem, by any means.
This national park was the FIRST national park ever established. It memorialized the [naval] battle by the colonists against the British, which was decisive to the victory of the war. They closed Boston Harbor, but Salem Harbor was wide open… And it was used to its full potential.
