An ancient civilization lived here. The big house is in the middle. Not much is known about this community, but they have since been called the Hohokam people.
The visitor center was amazing. It was very interactive and they had a fun Junior Ranger’s booklet. It was so hot that we spent only a little time outside.
It appears there are lots of things made from prickly pear cactus in this area….we tried the jelly candies… They were pretty tasty.
