So, Anna collects post cards from our travels and Caleb collects magnets. Malachi typically collects nature. We saw tumbleweed blowing around in Hurricane, Utah and we got that. We have lots of rocks.
Well, he kept seeing rock shops along the road where we were staying and asked to visit them. We went to three very different shops. One had more refined rocks and well priced treats. One was so-so and the other was a man who has worked with rocks since he was a boy, alongside his father. He took us into his shop and showed how they cut the rocks. He also told us about two local spots where you can dig them out. The first spot was too confusing; we tried but didn’t find anything. The second spot, Agate Hill, was fun. Malachi even got a cactus piece in his finger for a souvenir 😳. I forgot to take pictures of the rocks before storing them away …
Stop 1: Joe’s Rock Shop

Stop 2: Rock Shop. We had some fun treats: mini donuts, slushies and a coffee.

Stop 3: Malachi got a piece of petrified wood.

Agate Hill (We got a map from Joe’s Rock Shop)
