While visiting the Capitol building, we ran into a museum about the first store that welcomed people who came from the ships into Missouri. It was a port town. Missouri State Parks seems to be very involved. They provide the museum and its upkeep. It is great for visitors and field trips.
We ended the day with some amazing ice cream at the old Central Ice Cream shop.
