We visited the NASA in Houston. I learned a few things. For one, all blast offs happen in Florida. Once it leaves Florida, Houston assumes all control until the end of the mission, and it hits the water. Also, the International Space Station orbits the Earth once every 90 minutes, which is 16 times in a day. They pass 16 sunsets and 16 sunrises every 24 hrs, but they keep the windows closed so it won’t mess up their bodies. Finally, in the Apollo missions, the spacecraft would blow up after it was finished. With Artemis, they are able to reuse the spacecraft.
We used our ASTC reciprocal membership to get in at no cost.

The kids could try to get the fuel to the tanks using a laser system… They had 30 seconds.

We were able to walk inside of an older space shuttle and the plane that used to be used to help get it into flight.

We rotat rode a tram over to the Astronaut Training Facility. Part of the facility is for preparing to live on the Space Station.
