It was a long driving day but we made it. The Texas rest areas did not disappoint. They continued to be cute and quaint! Out drive definitely turned to a desert landscape.
We bounced between different time zones on our trip because of that corner between Mexico, Texas and New Mexico. Of course, we settled in the mountain time zone since we started in new Mexico.

El Paso was interesting. It was a pretty good town. The mountains were a beautiful backdrop.

Shortly after entering New Mexico, we found a Cracker Barrel to park at overnight.
